Sunday, Tuesday’s SSC, equivalent exams rescheduled

The SSC and its equivalent examinations, scheduled for February 22 and 28, have been shifted to February 28 and March 6 respectively.
The government rescheduled the examinations as the BNP-led alliance called another spell of 72-hour hartal from 6am tomorrow (Sunday).Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the new dates for the two examinations at a press conference at his Hare Road residence after an emergency meeting.As per the new schedule, Sunday’s examinations –- Chemistry, Civics and Citizenship/Civics and Bebosayee Udyug under general education
boards and General Math under Madrasah Education Board — will be held on February 28 (Saturday).Besides, Tuesday’s examinations -– Geography and Environment/Geography/Commercial Geography of general education boards and Bangla under Madrasah Education Board -– will be held on March 6 (Friday). Observing that the government along with 15 lakh examinees and their guardians are worried, Nahid said they rescheduled the examinations considering the security of the students.He also urged the BNP-led alliance not to enforce any hartal during the examinations. “We had repeatedly requested them not to call further hartal during the examinations, but they did not pay heed to our request,” he said. -UNB
