Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested an activist of Swechchhasebak League in possession of a sharp weapon from Sherpur Road area in the district town on Wednesday night.The arrestee was identified as Habibur Rahman Sandhan, son of Rafiqul Islam, a resident of Jaleshwaritala area of the town.Police said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sandhan along with a sharp weapon while a group of young men including Sandhan were staying in the area at about 9:00 pm.However, his other associates managed to flee the scene.Sub-inspector of DB Arifur Rahman confirmed the arrest.
