Dwellers of Shiber Char area in Sadar upazila on Friday besieged the
local Palli Bidyut Samity office demanding an immediate end to power
outages.
Sources said, in the afternoon, Hatkhola-Jalalabad Unnoyan Sangram
Committee held a rally in the area protesting subscribers’ harassment
by the Palli Bidyut Samity.
Later participants in the rally, angered by frequent load shedding,
laid a siege to the office of Palli Bidyut Samity-2.
At one stage, apprehending the situation going out of control, the
authorities of the samity held a meeting with the leaders of the
organisation and assured them of ensuring uninterrupted power supply
