Dhaka – Defending national champions Tangail School & College earned a comfortable 293-run victory over Shaheed Jahangir School in the Tangail District phase of the Bangabandhu National School Cricket Tournament of Tangail District on Wednesday.
Batting first, Tangail School & College scored a record 455 runs for 5, featuring two centuries by Mizanur Rahman and Rizan Hossain at Tangail District Stadium.
Mizan contributed 136 off 123 balls, while Rizan made 93-ball 108 runs. However the most explosive innings was played by Ali Omar Abir, whose 34-ball 97 runs was mainly responsible for propelling Tangail School to the record total. Hossain hit 42-ball 57 runs for Tangail School & College.
Replying to a massive target, Shaheed Jahangir School were dismissed for 162 runs in 44.4 overs with Sajib making 46 runs. Abdullah grabbed three wickets for 23 runs.UNB
