Taposh pledges well-governed, developed Dhaka in election manifesto

Awami League mayoral candidate for the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) election Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Wednesday unveiled a 5-point election manifesto promising to work for building developed and well-governed Dhaka city. He announced the election manifesto at the central Awami League office at noon.
His 5-point manifesto included traditional Dhaka, beautiful Dhaka, vibrant Dhaka, well-governed Dhaka and developed Dhaka.
Taposh said, “I will build the Dhaka central jail area as heritage site. I will build museum and art gallery with coordinated efforts and will preserve and restore the traditional characteristics of Old Dhaka through a master plan.”
He said he will take steps for development of slums in the city and providing housing facilities for the cleaning workers, he said.
Elections to both the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will now be held on February 1, reports UNB.
