Dhaka – Bangladesh College-University Teachers’ Association formed a human chain on the Dhaka University campus Wednesday protesting the humiliation of Shyamal Kanti Bhadra, headmaster of a high school in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj, by local member of parliament AKM Nasim Osman, unb news agency reported.
Speaking at the human chain in front of Aporajeo Bangla, leaders of Bangladesh College-University Teachers’ Association demanded proper legal steps against the MP.“By humiliating Shyamal Kanti Bhakta he humiliated the entire teachers community of the country. So we should not be silent and government should give him proper punishment,” said the Association’s president Nur Mohammod Talukdar.

A five-member committee, headed by upazila secondary education officer Nurul Amin, was formed on Tuesday to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, amid widespread criticisms over the arbitrary punishment of headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhadra, the managing committee of Piyar Sattar Latif High School suspended him from his post on Tuesday.
