Teenage girl, company employee murdered in city

Dhaka – In separate incidents, two people, including a teenage girl, have been murdered in the city’s Mirpur and Uttara areas.
One of the deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 44, a private company employee while the identity of the girl, aged around 15, could not be ascertained yet. A team of Darus Salam police station, led by sub-inspector Moniruzzaman, recovered the body of Rafiqul from his bedroom on the 1st floor of Sarafat Bhaban at 195 Dakkhin Bishil of Mirpur-1 at about 9:30 am.
Rafique had been working as an accountant at “Sara Print Tex”. He sued to live with his colleague Mashiur Rahman in a room inside their office at the “Sarafat Bhaban”.
Police said when employees of the company went to the office on Wednesday morning, they found the room of Rafique locked from outside. They entered the room breaking open its lock only to see Rafique lying in a pool of blood on his bed.
Marks of stab injuries were found at different parts of his body. Roommate Mashiur went into hiding after the incident, said the SI.
In another incident, Uttara West police station recovered the body of the unidentified teenaged girl from inside a plastic bag on an empty plot at Road No-3/1 of Uttara Sector-9 at about 10am.
Police said the girl might have been strangulated to death sometime on Tuesday night.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. – UNB
