Dhaka – A tempo driver was killed as a private car hit him in Dharabohor area of Golapganj upazila in Sylhet on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Sakir Ahmad, 24, son of Jilu Mia of Pashchim Dattarail Lalmati village of the upazila.Quoting witnesses, Golapganj Model Police Station officer-in-charge AKM Fazlul Haque Sibly said the accident took place at 10:00 pm when a private car hit Sakir who was standing beside his parked tempo, which went out of service in the area, leaving him injured critically.Locals rushed him to nearby health complex where doctors referred him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMC). Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital, he added.The body was taken to the police station at night and sent to SOMC morgue this morning for an autopsy.UNB news agency
