Terror forcing many people to lead uncertain life: B Chy

President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Prof Dr Badruddoza Chowdhury on Friday said sate terror has been going on in the country forcing many people to live an uncertain life.
“We are living through an uncertain life and we don’t know when we will suffer enforced disappearance,” he said, while addressing a discussing meeting at the National Press Club.Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) organised the meeting to mark the 78th birth anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahamn.
Terming the January 5 election as undemocratic, Badruddoza Chowdhury said the shameless Election Commission held the polls under a shameless government.
“We want to restore the rights to franchise which must be brought back through united movement,” he said.
The former President alleged that ministers of the grand alliance have amassed huge wealth illegally.
He said the present government has come to power by holding voter less election and stealing votes, resorting to terror and corruption. He observed that maximum five per cent votes were cast during the January 5 elections.
The former BNP leader regretted that the declaration of independence by Ziaur Rahman is now being challenged.
BNP chairperson’s adviser Barrister Shahjahan Omar said the government could impose ban on Jammat instead of advising to quit their company with the party.
DU teacher Prof AFM Yusuf Haider, president of a faction of BFUJ Ruhul Amin Gazi and DAB leader Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, among others, addressed the function. – Staff Reporter
