Tetulia shivers at Bangladesh’s lowest temperature 4.9˚C

Bangladesh recorded its lowest temperature of the winter so far after the mercury fell to 4.9 degrees Celsius in Tetulia at 6am on Wednesday.
The area has already seen a temperature of 5.7C on Tuesday.Panchagarh has been experiencing bone-chilling weather for the last few days.
Md Saniuzzaman, Tetulia Met office meteorologist, said the area had been recording Bangladesh’s lowest temperature for the last three days.The temperature starts falling from the afternoon and weather predictions indicate that the situation will not get well soon.
A cold wave, sweeping over Panchagarh, has made life difficult, particularly for the children and the elderly. Pratik Kumar Banik, resident medical officer of Sadar Hospital, said around 25 children had been admitted to the hospital in the last two days.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Golam Azam said they had already distributed 22,000 blankets. “We have written to the concerned authorities for more warm clothes,” he added.
