Those failing the Government …

It is reported that once Bangabandhu had said about the some people – All people get mines of gold but I find all thieves. This reported exclamation came when relief blankets were distributed among the people soon after liberation and many people did not get blankets although the supply was huge. Now the sitting government is apparently facing a somewhat similar dilemma. It’s a difficult situation indeed when the son-in-law of a full minister is directly accused of being involved in the murder following abduction of seven people including the panel mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation.
A former minister had to resign after reports of carrying a huge amount of unaccounted for money in a car by his close associates to his residence was reported in the press. He however was absorbed as minister without portfolio soon after.
Probably the more embarrassing thing to the Government was the reported use of adulterated gold in crests presented to hundreds of distinguished foreign Friends of the Liberation War during the last five years. Investigation has been ordered to determine how such a crime was committed affecting the image of the country.
And the list of people failing the Government is getting longer and longer. Those doing such crimes are not just thieves but dacoits, ordinary people say.
