Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) foiled an attempt of petrol bomb attack through capturing three workers of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal with two petrol bombs here last night.Director of RAB-13 Lieutenant Colonel Kismat Hayat disclosed the information at a press briefing arranged at Battalion Headquarters of RAB-13 in the city on Friday afternoon.The arrested persons are chhatra dal workers Mohammad Lenin, a second year honours student of Rangpur Carmichael College and Ahsan Habib of village Shukurerhat under Mithapukur upazila and sramik dal worker Raihan of Nuruzzaman of VIP Khamar area in the city.Acting on a secret information, a special team of RAB-13 conducted a raid and arrested them from Kishan Cold Storage area in the city along with two live petrol bombs last night.Lieutenant Colonel Hayat informed the media that the arrested persons planned to conduct a petrol bomb attack at Rangpur Fisheries Office on February 12 but failed to do so following presence of a good number of people there.Later, they planned to conduct subversive activities somewhere in between RK Road and Modern Mour last night.Lieutenant Colonel Hayat said that members of the elite force are making hectic efforts to arrest the rest involved with subversive activities. -BSS, Rangpur
