Directorate of Khulna District Women Affairs today distributed cheques amounting Taka 15.55 lakh among 82 women voluntary social welfare organizations at the deputy commissioners conference room through a ceremony.Khulna deputy commissioner Mostofa Kamal handed over the cheques among the representatives of the organisations and addressed the programme as the chief guest with additional deputy commissioner (General) Depanker Biswas in the chair.Chairman of National Women Organisation of Khulna Sayeda Hosne Ara Runu was present at the ceremony as special guest while District Women Affair Officer Nargis Fatema Zamin addressed the welcome speech. The chief guest said the present government has given priority on women empowerment for socioeconomic development of rural people to establish women rights in society.He also urged the members of women voluntary social welfare organisations to work together for changing the livelihoods as well as economic condition of rural people.BSS, Khulna
