Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled Indian clothes worth Tk 2 crore from Boro Achra border point here early Saturday.
BGB 26 battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman said acting on secret information, a BGB team conducted a drive on the border early in the morning and seized Indian sarees, three-pieces and other clothes and tea leaves worth Tk 2 crore.
However, the smugglers fled the scene sensing the presence of the border guards.
The seized goods were handed over to Benapole customs house. -UNB, Benapole
