Tk 300.7 cr for repairng 352 schools damaged during polls

Dhaka – Primary and Mass Education Ministry has so far allocated about Tk 300.7 crore for reconstructing 352 primary schools damaged in attacks by BNP-Jamaat men during the 10th parliamentary elections.Talking to UNB on Sunday, Department of Primary Education director general Shyamal Kanti Ghosh said the allocation has already been approved by the ministry.
“Today, we’ve sent the money to the education officers in the relevant areas. Hope, the affected schools will be repaired soon,” he said.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid instructed the authorities to make a list of the schools affected in the attacks by the BNP-Jamaat supporters. – UNB
