Tk2.24 lakh stolen from Islami Bank Rajshahi branch

Dhaka -Three youths allegedly stole Tk2.24 lakh from a customer’s bag after cutting it open at the New Market branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
Victim Alal Uddin, owner of Mita Studio and Color Lab in the city, said he sent his employee Krishna Kumar Raha to the bank to transfer some Tk9.24 lakh.

The whole incident was captured on the bank’s close circuit camera.
The CCTV footage shows three youths, aged between 25 and 30, entered the bank around 2pm.
Later, one of the trio cut the bag of Krishna, while he was talking to a person standing beside his row, stole the money and all the three left the bank, said vice-president of the bank Shahjahan Ali.
A general dairy was filed with Boalia Police Station in connection with the incident. – UNB
