To ensure 100 percent enrolment rate in primary schools stressed

Speakers at a function here on Thursday stressed the need for ensuring the children’s hundred per cent enrollment rate in primary schools, providing them with quality education and checking their drop out rate to make primary education a grand success.“In this context, stipend distribution activities among the children of the poor and distressed families including the insolvent persons with disability ones undertaken by the government play significant role in attaining the cherished goal undoubtedly”, they said.
They made the comments while addressing an inaugural session of a daylong training and seminar for the persons involved in sub-stipend project for primary education organized by upazila administration here on Thursday.
Additional district magistrate Hamidul Haque addressed the function as the chief guest and upazila parishad chairman Abdur Rashid Sarker and vice chairman Pearul Islam were present as the special guests.
With UNO Mamunur Rashid in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by upazila primary education officer Abdul Jobbar, assistant monitoring officer Zobaer Alam, Rupali Bank Gaibandha branch manager Rafiqul Islam, assistant upazila education officer Shahnaj Begum and journalist Sarker M Shahiduzzaman.
The speakers also urged all concerned particularly head teachers and chairmen of school managing committee (SMC) including guardians to work together with sincerity and transparency to utilize the project money for the targeted children so that they could complete primary education successfully.
ADM Hamidul Haque in his speech called upon the teachers to be more serious, cordial and dedicated to turn the schools into knowledge acquiring centers to produce more brilliant students from there and build the students as worthy citizens of the country to lead the nation towards development and progress.
Head teachers, chairmen of SMC and its members, local elite including journalists of print and electronic media participated in the seminar.
