Trader killed at Keraniganj

Miscreants have killed a sand trader in broad daylight at Keraniganj Upazila in Dhaka.
Police identified the victim as Md Selim Ahmed, 42. He lived with his family at Amirbagh in the Upazila.
Keraniganj Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Shah Alam said the murder took place around 11am on Friday at Muktirbagh.He told bdnews24.com: “Two youths called him out of his house at Amirbagh and took him to Muktirbagh. He was killed there following an argument.”
Quoting witnesses, he said, “At one point, one of the youths hit Selim Ahmed with a stump. Then the attacker started stabbing him with a knife and then cut his throat after throwing him down on the street.”
SI Alam said police have identified the attackers. But he did not disclose their names.
Police suspect Ahmed had been killed over a business dispute.
However, his younger brother ‘Montu’ alleged that Ahmed’s ‘business associates’ were behind the murder.
Police have sent the body to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy.-bdnews24.com
