Dhaka – A boat race, jointly organised by Nagar Samajik and Sangskritik Kendra and Grameenphone, was held at the Rupsha River in the city on Saturday.Some 28 teams from Koyra, Paikgacha, Terokhada of Khulna, and,Gopalganj, Narail, Madaripur and Faridpur districts participated in the race.The Champion team ‘Sundarban Tiger’ received Tk 1 lakh in big group while 1st runner-up ‘ Vai Vai Jolpuri’ get Tk 60,000 and 2nd runner-up Tk 30,000 in the same group,UNB News Agency Reported.Another team ‘Sonar Tori’ was given Tk 50,000 as champion in small group while ‘Joy Ma Kali’ Tk 30,000 as first runner-up and ‘ Joy Ma’ Tk 20,000 for second runner-up in the group.Presided over by Khulna Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Ahsan, the programme was attended, among others, by Khulna Jila Parishad administrator Sheikh Harunur Rashid and Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Nibas Chandra Majhi.
