A day-long traditional fish fair was held at Poli village of the Sadar upazila of the district on Friday.Hundreds of fish sellers and buyers and curious people from Habiganj ,Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamgang, Kishoreganj and Brahmanbaria districts joined the 100-year old traditional fish fair yesterday.Different species of indigenous fish like boal, baghaire, chital, gozar, shol, rohi, katal, puthi, chingri, koi, chapila and chanda were put on display at the fair.A baghaire fish weighing 40 kilograms was sold at Taka 50,000 and a boal at Taka 10,000 during the fair, said Shaheb Ali, one of the organisers of the fair.Shaheb Ali is also chairman of Poil Union Parishad. -BSS, Habiganj
