A traffic sergeant was killed as a truck crashed into him at Piarpur on the Faridpur-Nurumia Bypass Road in the district town on Wednesday morning.The deceased was identified as Saroj Kumar, 57, a resident of Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj district. Kamruzzaman, assistant superintendent of police of Sadar Police Station, said a speeding truck hit Saroj while he was performing duty on the road around 10.30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
