Training for university journalists begins at BAU

Mymensingh – An eight-day long training for the university journalists, titled ‘Training on Crime Reporting and Photo Journalism’ has begun on Monday to increase the efficiency and skills in reporting of the journalists working in different media houses.BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar inaugurated the programme as the chief guest with Graduate Training Institute (GTI) Director Mr AKM Rafiqul Islam in the chair. BAU Pro-VC Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan, BAU students’ affairs adviser Prof Dr SD Chowdhury addressed as the special guests.
Among others treasurer Mr Md Rakib Uddin, proctor Prof Dr Md Atiqur Rahman Rahman Khokon, training course co-ordinator Prof Dr Masuma Habib, Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain attended the program.
In the opening ceremony of the training programme, speakers said, the training is arranged to make the journalists make more skilful for representing the activities of the university to others.
They asked the journalists to be more careful during reporting as there is a chance of misinterpretation of a story due to lack of information.
Funded by BAU administration, Graduate Training Institute (GTI) of BAU is organizing the programme that will continue till October 8.
A total 19 members of BAU journalists’ association are participating in the training programme.
On the occasion of training, different national dailies university news containing ‘feature board’ also inaugurated in front of BAU journalist office. – BAU Correspondent
