Police recovered hanging body of a leader of the District Truck Workers’ Union from his residence in Matihar upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ziaur Rahman alias Zia, son of Zargis Ali and a member of the convening committee of the District Truck Workers’ Union.
Quoting family sources, Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge of Matihar Police Station, said Zia committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room in absence of the other house inmates at about 7:00 am.Finding Zia’s body hanging, they informed police.Police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.The cause for the suicide could not be known immediately.An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.Rajshahi, Jan 29 UNB)
