Two fishermen went missing as a trawler capsized in Saint Martin’s Island area of Teknaf upazila on Tuesday.
Nur Ahmad, former chairman of Saint Martins’ Island union parishad, said the fishing trawler carrying 11 fishermen sank in the bay in the morning due to rough weather.
Some of the fishermen managed to swim ashore while locals rescued some others. However, two fishermen still remained missing in the incident.
Coast Guard members launched a drive to rescue the missing people, the chairman added.
