Today, the scenario is different.

forests on its total landmass but due to unplanned industrialization and urbanization, our
planet is losing huge forest areas which have triggered numerous natural calamities.
The flora and fauna in the ocean are facing extinction. Aquatic animals are reportedly
dying under the propellers of fishing trawlers and ships, he added.
However, plantation of more trees is a sure way of keeping the environment cool. So,
we would appeal to the all students of high school level of rural area to support the plant
more trees campaign, he said.
Head teacher of different schools expressed their happiness that on the occasion many
tree saplings were planted. They hoped that these evergreen saplings will also grow to
provide cleaner air to the people around and the sports men and women who will play
matches here.
The speakers said tree plantation has already been turned into a social movement and
forest resources are contributing to the national economy, maintaining the balance in
ecology, environment and biodiversity, and reducing risks of natural calamities and
desertification.
They put special emphasis on planting more and more saplings for wood, medicinal and
fruit trees in the homesteads, roadsides, office premises, embankments, the premises
of educational and religious institutions and other places.
Planned forestation might resist riverbank erosions, help the process of flood-control,
help create prospective tourist spots and help the poor achieve self-reliance, they said.
