Two BPL football matches conclude in 2-2 draw

Two separate matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football ended in 2-2 draw at separate venues across the country on Sunday.

In the day’s first match, Saif Sporting Club maintained their top slot in the league intact after playing 2-2 draw with Chattogram Abahani Limited in their home match at the Rofiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

After a barren first, Nixon and Matthew scored one goal each for Chattogram Abahani in the 61st and 78th minute respectively while Emery leveled the margin for Saif SC scoring two quick goals in span of only three minutes in the 90th and 94th minute respectively.

After the day’s outcome, Saif SC top the league list with unbeaten run securing seven points from three matches.

In the day’s other match, Arambagh KS also played to 2-2 draw with Muktijoddha Sangsad KC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here in the evening.

The freedom fighter team Muktijoddha took lead in the 12th minute when Eleta Benjamin Junior of Arambagh KS scored a suicidal goal (1-0), But, Eleta Kingsley restored the parity for Arambagh KS in the 47th minute (1-1).

In the 57th minute, Muktijoddha SKC again took lead as Mohammad Sohel scored in the 57th minute (2-1) .

Eleta Kingsley again reutralized for Arambagh KS scoring his 2nd goal just one minute before the final whistle (2-2).

Earlier, the six times champions Dhaka Abahani Limited dropped point with lowly Brothers Union Club while holders Bashundhara Kings split points with newcomers Bangladesh Police FC in their 2nd league matches.UNB
