Two children drowned in ponds in separate incidents at Pakuria Bhangapara and Pragpur Kamarpara in Daulatpur upazila on Tuesday morning.The deceased were identified as Sumon,3, son of Ali Hossain, a resident of Pakuria Bhangapara village, and Swadhin,6, son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Pragpur Kamarpara of the upazila.Locals said Sumon suddenly fell in a pond adjacent to his house while playing in the area at about 10:30 am on Tuesday.In another incident, Swadhin went to Matha Bhanga river near his house around 2:00pm on Monday for taking bath.At one stage, Swadhin drowned in the river.On Tuesday morning, local people recovered the body of Swadhin from the river. -UNB, Kushtia
