Two Dhaka highrise buildings catch fire

Two high-rise buildings–one at Gulshan-2 and another at New Eskaton Road in Dhaka city–caught fire in the city on Saturday morning.
A fire broke out in a seven-storey commercial building at Gulshan-2 in the city on Sunday morning.
Duty officer Enayet Hossain of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters said the fire erupted on the 7th floor of ‘IK Tower’ at about 8:38 am and spread soon.On information, five fire fighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after half an hour’s efforts.
The origin of the blaze could not be immediately known.
In another accident, a multi-storied under-construction building in the New Eskaton Road area caught fire at about 8:55 am.
The fire broke out at a flat of the building at 122/23, New Eskaton Road near Janakantha Bhaban.
Three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and were working to bring the fire under control – UNB.
