Two killed 2 hurt in Noakhali as bus hits autorickshaw

Dhaka – Two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Samiti Bazar on Sonapur-Banglabazar road in Sadar upazila of Noakhali on Monday morning.The deceased were identified as Muktipada Majumdar, 45, son of Krishnapada Majumdar, a resident of Boiragi Bazar in Subarnachar upazila, and Faruk, 40, a resident of Musapur village in Companyganj upazila.
Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Model Police Station, said the Hatiya-bound bus of ‘Subarna Paribahan’ collided with the auto-rickshaw in the area around 8:30am, leaving Muktipada dead on the spot and three others injured.
All the victims were riders of the auto-rickshaw. The injured were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital where Faruk succumbed to his injures later.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy. – UNB
