Chittagong, Sept 2 –Two bus passengers were killed and 25 others injured as a train hit the vehicle at Bariyarhat Level Crossing in Mirsharai Upazila of Chattogram early Sunday. One of the deceased was identified as Sunimal Chakma.
The accident occurred when Chattogram-bound ‘Bijoy Express’ hit a Khagrachhari-bound bus of ‘S Alam Paribahan’ in the area about 4 am, leaving the two passengers dead on the spot, said Robiul Azam, station officer of Mirsharai Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The accident halted rail communication on Dhaka-Chattagram route for two and half hours. It was not yet clear why the bus was on the level crossing and came under direct hit of the train.- UNB
