Two murdered in capital

Two people were killed in the city’s Matikata and Kadamtoli areas in separate incidents.
The victims were identified as Mamun Fakir, an owner of a small tea stall, and Malek Hasan Mahmud, 33, a worker of a saw mill.
Police quoting family members said Mamun was returning his Jurain Commissioner Galo Road on Monday night. Suddenly, some miscreants intercepted him near at Bagicha area of Kadamtoli at about 9:30 pm and stabbed him indiscrimately.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from where he was taken to his residence at about 5:00 am.As condition of Mamun was deteriorating in the morning, he was taken to DMCH at about 7:55 am when the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead, said Sub-Inspector Saleh Ahmed of Kadamtoli police station.
We are yet to know reason behind the incident but we are trying to arrest the culpit, SI Saleh added.
In another incident, Cantonment thana police recovered the floating body ofone Malek from a waterbody of Matikata at about 10:00 am, said ASI Sadekun Nahar of Cantonment police station.
Later, his family members identified the body and then sent it to DMCH morgue for postmortem, ASI Sadekun Nahar added.
Sources at the DMCH said Malek was slaughtered before being thrown into the waterbody.
He was a worker of a saw mill of Tarabo area at Rupganj in Naryangonj. He was residing at a rented house at West Manikdi under Cantonment police station, DMCH sources said as quoted family members of the victim. – News Desk
