A sergeant and a constable of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have died after their vehicle collided head-on with a truck in Narayanganj’s Arhaihajar Upazila.Two of their colleagues were also injured in the accident at Purinda on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at around 11:45am on Friday, RAB and police have said.
The deceased were identified as RAB-11 Sergeant ‘Monsur’ and Constable ‘Sohel’.
Battalion commander of RAB-11 Lt Col Anwar Latif Khan said the accident occurred when their pick-up was on its way to Narayanganj from Narsinghdi.
Monsur died on the spot, while Sohel passed away on his way to Dhaka, he said.
Khan said the two other critically injured RAB personnel were admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.
