U-19 Asia Cup: India clinched title outplaying Sri Lanka by 144 runs

Dhaka – India clinched the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title crushing Sri Lanka by a massive 144 runs in a day-night final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
This is India’s sixth title among the seven sittings and Afghanistan took the last year’s title.India opened the innings after winning the toss and piled a huge total of 304 runs for 3 in stipulated 50 overs, featuring two partnerships in the opening and 4th wicket stand.

Opener Y Jaiswal pairing Anuj Rawat contributed 121 runs in 25.1 overs in the opening partnership while P Simran Singh partnering with A Badoni scored an unbeaten 110 runs in the 4th wicket stand enabling India to score the huge total.

DN Wellalage, SMKS Senarathne and KKV Perera claimed one wicket each conceding 24, 45 and 55 runs respectively.In reply, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 160 runs in 38.4 overs with opener KNM Fernando (49), number six ND Paranavithane (48), one down P Sooriyabandara (31) and opener ND Perera (12) are the notable batsmen reaching the double digit.

The slow left arm orthodox bowler from Delhi Harsh Tyagi made the major damage in Sri Lanka innings grabbing six wickets for 38 runs and was adjudged player of the match while SA Desai took two for 37 runs.UNB
