Malek Chunnu Team by 12-10 goals in the opening match at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium here Wednesday
Sabbir Yusuf Team beat Nazimuddin Mollah Team 7-6 goals in the other opening day’s fixture at the same venue in the afternoon,UNB News Agency Reported.Earlier, Adviser of the meet’s sponsor Walton Major General AKM Muzahid Uddin inaugurated the eight-day five-a-side meet in the
afternoon.Advisory Director of ATN Bangla Meer Motahar Hossain, FM Iqbal Bin Anwar of Walton and Secretary of Hockey Umpires Committee Kamrul Islam Kismat were also present on the occasion.Six teams split in two groups are initially taking part in the meet.Participating teams are: Group A – Abdul Malek Cunnu Hockey Five, Sheikh Nurul Islam Hockey Five and Mir Saber Ali Hockey Five.Group B-Shabbir Yusuf Hockey Five, Nanna Hockey Five and Nazim Uddin Mollah Hockey Five The two teams from each of the two groups will earn the rights to play in the semifinals on July 24 and 25 respectively at 4 pm while the final match will held on July 26 at 4 pm at the same venue.The champion team will get a prize money of Taka 16,000 while the runner up team will receive a prize money of Tk 8,000.
