Unending wait of familyto get Ilias back alive

Even though BNP organising secretary M Ilias Ali has been traceless for the last two years, his family members and party colleagues are still hopeful of his safe return.
Two years back on April 17, 2012, former BNP MP Ilias has reportedly been made disappeared along with his car driver Ansar Ali from the capital’s Banani area on April 17, 2012, but it is still not clear whether he is dead or alive. No progress of the investigation by the law enforcers is also in sight to unearth the mystery over the BNP leader’s disappearance.
BNP has been claiming since he went missing that the law enforcers at the behest of the government made Ilias disappeared, an allegation vehemently rejected by the government.
“Apart from journalists, people of different walks of life, want to know from me about Ilias. I don’t have any answer. What can I say? I’m jut waiting for his safe return,” the missing BNP leader’s wife, Tahsina Rushdir Luna, said.
Though still hopeful of finding her husband back, Luna is skeptical whether she will get cooperation from the government and the law enforcers in this mission.
She lamented that she called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after the disappearance of Ilias Ali and sought the PM’s steps to trace him, but it went in vain.
“I don’t know by which means I should get assistance from the government and the law enforcers to get Ilias back. I earnestly urge the all authorities concerned to extend their sincere cooperation in this regard,” said an emotion-choked Luna.
She sought justice from the Almighty Allah those who has made her family dejected by making her husband untraced.
Ilias’ younger brother Askir Ali said from London that they along with their old mother are still waiting for return of Ilias Ali.
“We want to get Ilias Ali back at any cost. We call upon the government to trace him out. Had my brother been landed in jail we would not get hurt. We rather wait for his release. But now we don’t know where our brother is.”
He alleged that the law enforcers have apparently become inactive in their bid to trace out Ilias. “We’re now counting on the Allah for getting him back alive.”
Like Luna and Askir, Ilias colleagues have long been eagerly waiting to find him alive.
“We all believe Ilias Ali will return to us. We’re till waiting for his return.” said BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
He said the government could have traced Ilias had it been sincere in its efforts. Meanwhile, BNP will hold a meeting in the city on Thursday demanding that their missing leader Ilias Ali be traced. – UNB
