Unite for movement, BNP urges Hindu community

Dhaka – Stating that the country is passing through a critical time, BNP on Monday urged Hindu community members to get united to wage a movement for restoration of democracy and build a welfare state. “People’s rights have been snatched while there’s no security of their lives in the country. The spirits of our Liberation War and democracy have been snatched,” said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

He further said, “We all must get united and involved in a movement to restore people’s rights, democracy and build Bangladesh as a true welfare state.”

Fakhrul came up with the remarks while exchanging greetings with the Hindu community members at BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office, marking Janmashtami.

He alleged that not only the opposition leaders and activists and democracy-loving people but also Hindu and other minority communities are being persecuted during the rule of current government.

The BNP secretary general also accused the ruling party men of grabbing the lands of Hindu community members apart from torturing them.

BNP arranged the programme on behalf of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and a hundred Hindu community members joined it.UNB
