Dhaka – A female student of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) was killed and four others were injured as a bus carrying students collided with a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Salimpur area in Sitakundu upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nazrin Meherin, a 7th semester student of English Department of the university.Md Rafiq, sergeant of Faujdarhat highway police camp, said the collision took place in the afternoon when the university bus,carrying female students, was returning to the city from the campus in the upazila, leaving five female students critically injured.The injured were admitted at Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctor declared Nazrin dead, said assistant sub-inspector Pankaj Barua of CMCH police outpost.Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee.
