Dhaka – Usha Krira Chakra and Abahani Ltd will take on each other in the final of the Marcel Club Cup Hockey at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Monday. The final of the 9-team tournament will begin at 3pm. Satellite TV channel ATN Bangla will telecast the final live. On the eve of the final, Usha KC coach Mumun-ur-Rashid on Sunday said, “We have a great chance to win hat-trick title. So, we’ll try our level best. However, those who can perform well utilising all chances properly in the match will seal the crown.” He was addressing a press conference at the Bangladesh Hockey Federation.On the other hand, Abahani Ltd manager Mahbub Ehsan Rana said, “Abahani always play for win and we’ll take to the field tomorrow for win.” He also expects good performance from their foreign players. “I expect our foreign players will give their cent percent in the final.” Captains of both the teams — Krisna Kumar of defending champions Usha KC and Asim Gop of Abahani Ltd — expressed the hope to lift the title playing an entertaining match.Usha KC moved to the final eliminating Mohammedan Sporting Club by 4(3)-2(3) goals in a tie-breaker in the 1st semifinal while Abahani confirmed the final beating Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 3-2 goals in the 2nd semifinal.
