Uttar Baridhara’s Brazilian footballer Lima sent to quarantine

Dhaka  – Leonardo Vieria Lima, a Brazilian footballer of Uttar Baridhara Club in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football, sent to quarantine at club premises Saturday last for Carona Virus threat.

Lima, a registered player of Uttar Baridhara Club, arrived in the capital last Friday via Thailand after the 5th round of the BPL Football and played a match against Dhaka Mohammedan SC last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Government advised the concerned people, who came home from abroad including Thailand, to take a 14-day quarantine due to outbreak of Corona Virus in the country.

Manager of Uttar Baridhara Club Jahangir Alam said, “Lima reached the club last Friday after completing the necessary formalities in the airport, he has no physical problem and was found sound and normal, he also played a match against Mohammedan last Saturday”.

“But we sent him in a separate room in the club with separate food arrangements for the safety of other players, complying with the government instruction as he arrived here through Thailand”, he added.

Baridhara Coach cum former national striker Alfaz Ahmed said, Lima also made practices with team members after playing against Mohammedan SC. However, it created a constant threat in the sports arena .UNB
