Value-based education emphasised

Participants of a three-day long training workshop and seminar of teachers in Barisal on Sunday stressed on reality and moral values based teaching for quality education.
This ‘education to reality and values’ programme was organized and funded by Caritas Barisal region under ‘formation of youth and teacher’s programme (FYTP) participated by teachers of 12 schools and madrasas in the city and district at the Caritas regional training center.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Francis Bepari, regional director Caritas Barisal region and inaugurated by Shohidul Alam, deputy commissioner Barisal. Among others Kazi Raihan Jamil, head of Alo-Ghar project, Dr. Sister Henrietta , Robert Rocky Koraiya, project officials, addressed the session. The speakers and participants of the programme told that education to reality morality, and ethical values would be followed by the teachers for the learners.It is not only the head of institution, but all teachers should activejointly in developing human ethics and values in the in the institution. One teacher may has personal believes, but it should not differ between religion, caste, colour or community in teaching, learning
methods and professional sectors, they opined.They marked that different types of education system developed and digitalized now a day to meet up demands of the modern age. Although education considered as backbone of the nation and teachers as the workmen of human beings, however modes of better teaching and arning methods yet to be standardized, they told. – Our Correspondent Barisal
