Vessels resume plying in Kaptai Lake

Normalcy has been restored to shipping in Kaptai Lake as water level in the lagoon
increased due to torrential rain and on rush of hilly water.
General secretary of Launch Owner Association of Rangamati Moin Uddin Selim said
various kind of vessels are now plying on Rangamati-Barkal-Bagaichhari route normally.
After long six months, ML Yusuf, a large passenger-carrying launch, was pressed into
service yesterday. The vessel started its voyage from Rangamati to Bagaichari with full
of passengers.  The movement of goods carrying vessels in the lake also became normal.
The movement of vessels in the lake was badly hampered due to fall of water level in the
lake. -BSS, Rangamati
