Walton announced as title sponsor of DPDCL T20

Dhaka – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday announced Walton as the title sponsor of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) T20 which is set to commence from Monday.

CEO of BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury announced the name of Walton as the title sponsor of Bangladesh’s most prestigious domestic cricket league’s T20 version.

A total of 12 teams will participate in the T20 league dividing into four groups. Every team will get two matches in the group stage of the league. After that, the top one will advance to the semi-finals.

The chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka (CCDM) Kazi Inam Ahmed has said that the two semi-finals and the final will be telecasted live on Gazi TV.

“We are glad to announce that the semi-finals and the final of the tournament will be telecasted on Gazi TV. They might telecast the Super League stage of 50-overs format as well,” Kazi Inam said.

Arman Ashraf, the director of Gazi TV, said “It is a challenging task to telecast a domestic cricket tournament because of it’s low value to the market and there are not many viewers of this league. Despite these difficulties, we have taken the challenge. We will telecast two semi-finals and the final of the T20 league depending on the arrangement of ourselves.”

The semi-finals are scheduled to be played on March 1 while the final will take the field on March 3 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.UNB
