A week long Rashimoni fair started on Saturday on the premises of Rashimoni memorial monument at Baheratoli village under Durgapur upazila of the district.Rashimoni Memorial Trust organised the fair to mark 69th death anniversary of Hajong Kudra Nree Gustee community leader Rashimoni.British soldiers shot Rashimoni to death when she leading a movement against “Tanka system” imposed on the farmers by the then land-lords during the British colonial role.A senior leader of the Hajong Kudra Nree Gustee Kumodini Hajong who is popularly known as “Hajong Mata” formally inaugurated the fair.A total of 100 colorful stalls of handicrafts and cottage industries products were set up in the fair. -BSS, Netrakona
