Rangamati, Oct 18 (UNB) – A mentally impaired youth was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Natun Bazar Dhakaia Colony beside Kaptai-Rangamati road on early Friday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Md Shipon Mia, 22, son of Ali Ajgor of the area. Atiur Rahman, in-charge of Kaptai police outpost, said locals informed police after finding Shipon lying beside the road around 3am.
He was already dead, the policeman said. Atiur said injury marks on the body “clearly show” that he was trampled by a wild elephant.
