Police arrested a notorious drug- smuggler and recovered 18 bottles of
banned Indian wine from his possession in Chaitali Ghat frontier area
under Durgapur
upazila of the district on Thursday.Police sources said the arrested
drug-trader was identified as Wasington, 35, son Holkubir of village
Madupara under the Durgapur upazila.
Acting on a secret information, a team of police from Durgapur police
station cordoned off the Chaitali Ghat area and caught the drug-
smuggler red-handed and recovered the contraband drug-item from his
possession.
The arrested drug-smuggler was involved in smuggling contraband
drug-items from across the border for long time, the officer-in-charge
of Durgapur police station Alamgir Hussain
said.
A case was recorded with the Durgapur police station in this connection.
