An elderly woman was crushed under the wheels of a train near the rail station in Ullahpara upazila headquarter on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Kohinoor Begum, 71, wife of late Sohrab Ali of Singhganti Guchchhapara village of the upazila.
Police said ‘Nil Sagar Express,’ a Dhaka-bound train from Ishwardi, hit Kohinoor while she was crossing the rail track at about 12:30 pm, leaving her dead on the spot.
The body was sent to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
