A woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident near a CNG filling station on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chandina upazila on Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as Zohra Begum, a resident of Lazoir village of Muradnagar upazila.
Witnesses said when Zohra Begum, her sister Rasheda and niece Jesmin were crossing the road a speeding truck hit them around 9 am, leaving Zohra dead on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Chandina upazila health complex and then to Comilla Medical College hospital as their condition deteriorated.
On information, police recovered the body. They seized the truck and arrested its driver. -UNB, Comilla
