Dhaka- Defending champions Pabna and last-time runners-up Rajshahi reached the final of the 12-team Popular Life Insurance 17th Inter-District Women’s Volleyball Tournament eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium here on Thursday.The two teams will lock horn again in the title-deciding match on Friday at 4:30 pm. The 3rd place-deciding match between the two losing semifinalists will be held on the same day at 3pm.
Managing Director of meet’s sponsor Popular Life Insurance Company BM Yousuf Ali will be the chief guest in the final. Director of Ifad Group Tasfin Ahmed will also be present on the occasion.
In the day’s semifinals, holders Pabna beat Rajbari by 25-20, 25-20, 26-24 points while Rajshahi defeated Khulna by 25-20, 25-23, 25-20 points.UNB
