Yaba peddler bullet-hit in clash with cops in Satkhira

An alleged Yaba peddler was bullet-injured in a clash between police and drug peddlers at Ichhakur in Shyamnagar upazila early Tuesday.
The injured was identified as Mansur Ali,45, son of Hamid Sheikh, a resident of Chandipur Badoghata village of the upazila.Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Enamul Haque said tipped off that some drug peddlers were selling Yaba in the area, a team of police conducted a drive there in the dead of night.
When the law enforcers challenged the Yaba peddlers, they threw brick chips at them, promoting the law enforces to open fire, leaving Mansur injured with bullet.
Later, police arrested him along with 28 pieces of Yaba tablets from the spot.
Mansur was admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital under police custody.
The arrestee was wanted in 18 drug-related cases with Shyamnagar Police Station, the OC added.
A case was filed in this connection.
