A young man was crushed to death by a train at Mohonpur rail crossing under Matihar thana in the city on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin, 32, son of Harun-or-Rashid, a resident of Mohonpur Purbapara area in the city.Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP) station, said the Dhaka-bound train ‘Silkcity Express’ hit Jalal at about 4:00 pm while he was crossing the rail tracks, leaving him dead on the spot.Later, the railway police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.An unnatural death case was filed. -UNB, Rajshahi
